The purpose of SWSC Chess is to help individual players learn to recognize the importance of their own thought processes. The players learn to accept the consequences of personal decision and the the outcome of the game as a measure of self-development in a thinking skill. Competition in chess encourages self-motivation.
The SouthWest Suburban Conference consists of 9 high schools located outside of Chicago, Illinois. We serve the south western suburban area.
Co-curricular activities are offered by schools of the Conference in the belief that they can make valuable contributions toward the achievement of educational goals.
